As you check-in with families and students, a quick reminder to be diligent in reporting if you learn of those experiencing “homelessness.” The McKinney-Vento Act defines homelessness as: (a) bunking with another; (b) staying in a shelter; (c) staying in a hotel/motel; (d) unsheltered – in a car, etc. Your role is valuable as things may be very different from what they were 7-8 months ago for many of your building’s families!
The following form is to be submitted for a NEW bus request; MODIFIED address change, or to END bus service. Reporting can come from any staff member, so collaboration with your Administration and Home School Communicator will be important.
